Battered Fish With Pea Salsa Verde And McCain Crispers
Ingredients
2 cups McCain Peas
For the Fish
4 x 200-gram Hake fillets
1 cup Flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 can cold beer
Salt
Oil for frying
For the Salsa Verde
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 cup fresh basil
¼ cup fresh mint
¼ cup fresh parsley
2 teaspoons capers
1 teaspoon chilli flakes
Zest and juice of 1 lime
Salt and pepper

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
- Cook Crispers according to package instructions
- Combine all the ingredients for the salsa verde and blend until smooth, adjust seasoning
- Steam the peas for 6 minutes and toss through with the salsa verde
- Combine the flour, baking powder, beer and salt and mix until you get a smooth like pancake batter
- In a deep pot or deep fryer heat enough oil to deep fry the fish
- Dip the fish fillets in the batter and fry in the hot oil until crispy and cooked
- Serve with pea salsa verde and crispers
